Childlike Wonder!

I say to you that out goal is freedom, and I believe we are going to get there, because however much she strays away from it, the goal of America is freedom. - Martin Luther King Jr.

When you know what makes America special after reading history, at least having a basic understanding of the US Constitution, and for me growing up in an atmosphere that respects this knowledge you will see how one word that stands out in Martin Luther King Jr's quote above is so important, believe. To believe something is to : accept something as true; feel sure of the truth of. Of course everyone can believe different things and we can all fight about it. More importantly, is taking the idea of belief and turning it inward. I can do better. I can do better in all the different facets of my life; home, hearth and health. If I can do better so can you. This small concept, small idea shared is what, very simply put, shaped a nation that is like no other. All politics aside in order to embrace the concept of belief one has to be able to express the purity of childlike wonder. This comes from daily spending time living in your heart.

Do you remember when you were a child and you would lay on the grass in the summer and watch the clouds change shape? Your imagination would see different things and a story would unfold. It was such a simple thing to do but it felt wonderful. Puffy clouds with beautiful streams of light behind them ignighting your imagination inspiring creativity, who would complain about that? This is the childlike wonder that building any dream upon, one has to start with. That spark of inspiration is uplifting and others want to join in. This sensation of belief is life affirmative. Someone else could easily be the opposite, a mean spirited control freak tied up in what others think of them and unable to relax their mind enough to even enjoy watching clouds. I wonder what a nation of those types of people would look like? Personally, I'll stick with the cloud watchers and nurture the internal suppleness that allows for change, change is possible, people can grow and learn at any age. Childlike wonder at every age to me is freedom and one must be at home in their heart bravely remaining true to oneself.

Shine on America!
